DRMP Establishes New Transportation Noise Leadership to Bolster its PD&E/NEPA Services

September 28th, 2023

ORLANDO, Fla. DRMP has hired Robyn Hartz as Transportation Noise Group Leader to grow the firm’s Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) services throughout the Southeastern United States.

In this role, Hartz will be responsible for building and maintaining a group of noise analysts in DRMP’s markets in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This involves following and pursuing projects, hiring and managing staff, and overseeing the firm’s client base.

Hartz has more than 20 years of experience conducting, managing, and studying transportation-related noise and air quality projects. She has worked in more than 20 states on a variety of noise projects for highway, rail, and aviation.

“Robyn is very involved in national noise research through the Transportation Research Board and brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and relationships to our PD&E group,” DRMP PD&E/NEPA Division Leader Joce Pritchett, PE, said. “She will be instrumental in helping us develop a NEPA presence in the states we aren’t currently known in.”

Having lived and worked in Georgia and Virginia, two of DRMP’s market areas, Hartz is uniquely qualified to assist the firm with her expertise and relationships. She also has relationships in states outside of the firm’s market area.

“Since noise modeling and analysis are a sub-study of the PD&E/NEPA process, it’s a specialty to offer to other firms for teaming arrangements,” Pritchett said. “Having that technical capability will allow us to build relationships and develop a wider client base.”

Hartz said the opportunity to assist DRMP in building its PD&E/NEPA practice was a career move she could not pass up.

“The chance to get to build a group is an opportunity that doesn’t come around often in someone’s career,” Hartz said. “I hope to build a strong noise group that has Department of Transportation (DOT) work in as many states as possible.”

DRMP’s strategic growth plan and partnerships with other transportation firms is also a plus for Hartz.

“Each project has its own challenges,” she said. “DRMP is in expansion mode and has numerous resources at its disposal, which makes this opportunity even more exciting.”
