SR 417 Widening (Contract 417-107)

The SR 417 (Central Florida GreeneWay) from SR 528 to Curry Ford Road was a $21.3 million project located in Orange County, Florida. The Central Florida Expressway was having issues with the Central Florida GreeneWay’s repetitive congestion. The congestion caused major vehicular delays during peak traffic times which was causing drivers to avoid the limited access roadway and reducing its revenue.

DRMP provided design for the widening of SR 417 from 4-lanes to 8-lanes from SR 528 to Curry Ford Road for approximately 3.34-miles in Orange County, Florida. This limited access facility has ramps serving two interchanges at Lee Vista Boulevard and Curry Ford Road.  The bridge over Lee Vista Boulevard was widened to the median. Soundwalls were constructed along 0.8 miles of the east right-of-way line.  DRMP designed the widening of the bridges over Lee Vista Boulevard, over a mile of precast sound wall and both bridge mounted and overhead sign structures.

The widening services provided by DRMP allows for maximum traffic flow for motorists which decreases their commute times, and aesthetic soundwalls prevent any unwanted roadway noise for the surrounding communities. All structures are innovatively designed for maximum lifespan and increased safety.
