SR 589 (Suncoast Parkway 2) Control Survey

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise contracted DRMP for the extension of SR 589, also known as the Suncoast Parkway, through Citrus and Hernando Counties. This project consists of three sections of roadway design and construction across two counties and required a network of high accuracy control monuments established to control the entire project on a single control base.

DRMP performed static GPS surveys and bench levels were run through the project to establish Primary Network Control (PNC) to be used in all three sections of the Suncoast Parkway 2 design and right-of-way survey. DRMP provided all analysis and adjustment of the resulting data and prepared PNC maps. Our surveyors also performed design and right-of-way survey for the first 8.9-miles of the corridor while managing a team of four subconsultant survey firms. DRMP provided final review and submittal of all design base files and survey maps, assuring that both our in-house work and subconsultants met FTE standards.  Final deliverables included right-of-way maps and legal descriptions and approximately 150 acquisition parcels that required parent tract calculations, legal descriptions and acquisition sketches.

The resulting control network provided a highly accurate base for the design and right-of-way mapping phases of the Suncoast Parkway Extension.
