Stormwater Engineering Supplemental Services Pipe Replacement

Pasco County, Florida needed failing stormwater outfall pipes replaced at five locations on the west side of the County in the residential areas of New Port Richey and Holiday.

DRMP provided the professional engineering design services to replace the pipes. These pipes varied in size and materials and ran along the County drainage easements through seawalls/endwalls. The outfall pipes ran in between houses, and the imminent failure of these pipes was creating a significant risk of damage to adjacent properties and structures.

Coordination with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) was also performed regarding permitting requirements for the project, including the addition of manatee exclusion devices at outfalls and protection of the Outstanding Florida Waters (OFWs) and aquatic preserves downstream.

The replaced pipes have a longer lifespan, and the risk of damaged properties was averted. Marine life is kept away from the outfall area and downstream vegetation is protected.
