DRMPCares: Employees Experience the Joy of Giving Back

December 21st, 2023

Tis a special season at DRMP – a time when we empower our employees to come together during the holidays to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people in our community who need it most.

Our DRMPCares program aims to provide resources for community initiatives that make a difference for STEM education, health, and the well-being of children.

This season, DRMP’s offices rallied behind many causes close to our employees’ hearts. In Jacksonville, Fla., our team organized a food drive benefitting Feeding Northeast Florida coupled with a Christmas toy and clothing drive for the Salvation Army’s Angel Barrel initiative.

Our corporate headquarters in Orlando, Fla., raised $3,000 in cash and gift card contributions from our employees to benefit the Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families, which assists the most at-risk families in Central Florida.

Adeoluwa O Bello, PE, a DRMP Structures Engineer, who participated in the campaign, expressed the profound impact of community involvement.

“Giving to the community is more than just a gesture, it’s the realization that our individual actions, no matter how little can pave a thread of hope through the fabric of our community,” O Bello said. “I find great joy that arises from creating a world where generosity is the heartbeat that sustains us. Together, our contributions will become a catalyst for a brighter future.”

In Cary, N.C., DRMP employees collected donations to assist a local family supported by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Our Florida offices in St. Augustine and Tallahassee also played their part, organizing donation drives for Toys for Tots and the PACE Center for Girls, respectively.

Employees in our Tampa, Fla., office collected food and toy donations for Metropolitan Ministries, a nonprofit that assists the homeless population.

DRMP’s Boca Raton office volunteered their time at Boca Helping Hands, a nonprofit that provides food, job training, financial assistance, and access to healthcare for individuals and families in need.

"Volunteering is a small commitment of time that yields immeasurable rewards, not only for those being helped, but also for the volunteer themselves, as it creates a positive impact on the community and fosters a better world for all,” said Boca Raton Survey Department Manager Matt Floyd, PSM.

Senior Vice President/Construction Services Director Erica Jernigan, PE, who also participated in this year’s community involvement initiatives, has a deep commitment to giving back.

"I find immense joy in giving back, knowing my contribution has the power to create a positive change and make a difference in the lives of others,” Jernigan said. “I’m grateful to work for a caring company that values and encourages community involvement."
