South Williamson Boulevard Extension

The South Williamson Boulevard Extension was a $10 million project located in Port Orange, Florida. The Pioneer Community Development District (PCDD) and Volusia County needed a firm to provide Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP) funded Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services for the new alignment project.

DRMP was selected to perform CEI for the project, which consisted of the construction of a 3.12-mile, 4-lane divided roadway. The project includes clearing and grubbing of approximately 60-acres, subsoil excavation, excavation, embankment, sodding, stormwater system including the construction of six ponds, concrete sidewalk and driveways, gravity wall construction, signalization, signs, pavement markings, utility relocation and coordination. Service also included a Joint Project Agreement (JPA) utility contract for the City of Port Orange to relocate water and force main pipes that conflicted with the new gravity wall construction.

This extension of South Williamson Boulevard extended south and connected to Pioneer Trail. Previously, the local traffic used Airport Road to access Pioneer Trail. This connection was a benefit to the community by reducing the amount of drive time to this section of Pioneer Trail.
