Fred George Basin Greenway Baseline Natural Resources Inventory

Leon County Parks and Recreation Division needed ecological services from a firm to conduct a baseline inventory of the natural resources at the Fred George Basin Greenway. The inventory fulfilled the baseline biological survey and assessment criteria of their Fred George Basin Greenway Management Plan.

DRMP prepared the baseline natural resources inventory report for the Fred George Basin Greenway.  The project included a field assessment of the property’s natural resources, observation documentation and geographic information systems (GIS) mapping.  The data collected consisted of habitat types, soil types, wildlife observations, non-native and/or invasive vegetation locations, unique features, potential presence of protected and commercially exploited plant and wildlife species and management recommendations.

By identifying sensitive habitats within the Natural Resources Inventory, DRMP provided the County with needed information to make informed decisions regarding future land planning and improvements.
