Longino Ranch Conservation Easement Natural Resources Inventory

Longino Ranch is a farming/ranching property located in Southwest Florida. The ranch, which spreads across 8,000-acres, required a natural resource inventory to obtain a conservation easement from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).

DRMP conducted and prepared am Environmental/Natural Resources Inventory study on behalf of the Longino Ranch, Inc. to characterize the significant ecological features for a 6-section portion of the ranch to establish a conservation easement over the property with the SWFWMD.  The subject site includes nearly 4,000-acres of uplands and wetlands.  The report documents the habitat types present, the wildlife resources and the known or potential occurrences of animals and plant species, which are listed as endangered, threatened, species of special concern or commercially exploited at either the state or federal level.

The documentation gave the Longino Ranch proof of valuable natural resources and habitats on their property and allowed the ranch to obtain the conservation easement that will protect this vital piece of natural land in perpetuity.
