I-75 and Collier Boulevard/SR 951 Interchange PD&E Study

Kittelson & Associates, Inc. needed a firm to provide ecological services for the PD&E study for a proposed interchange project.  The client wanted to ensure that the environment would be minimally impacted by the proposed interchange.

DRMP prepared the Endangered Species Biological Assessment (ESBA) and Wetland Evaluation Report (WER) to develop a proposed “best-fit” improvement strategy for the interchange project.  Within the 443-acre study limits, DRMP conducted a preliminary wetland delineation, wetland habitat analysis, geographic information systems (GIS) mapping and analysis and species-specific wildlife surveys (including the red-cockaded woodpecker and Florida bonneted bat).  Our study found solutions that are technically sound, environmentally sensitive, and publicly acceptable with minimal community impacts.

The recommended improvements were developed to accommodate projected traffic forecasts and to serve the growing demands in the transportation corridor.  The capacity and accessibility enhancements were suggested with minimal wetland and wildlife impacts.
