SR 600/US 17/92 from West of Poinciana Boulevard to CR 535/Ham Brown Road

FDOT District Five needed a firm to provide an environmental study for this project, which is located between the City of Kissimmee and Reedy Creek in Osceola County, Florida.

DRMP prepared the Natural Environmental Report (NER) for the PD&E Study, wetland and wildlife summaries for the State Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) and Quality Enhancement Strategies (QES).  The NER report was prepared as a joint Endangered Species Biological Assessment (ESBA) and Wetland Evaluation Report (WER).  This study was conducted along SR 600/US 17/92, from west of Poinciana Boulevard to CR 535/Ham Brown Road (2.2-miles), to evaluate the potential impacts of widening the existing 2-lane undivided road, classified as an urban principal arterial-other, to a 4-lane facility to enhance the operation capacity and overall traffic operations.  Our report gave extensive details on the nearby wildlife, protected habitats, estimated wetland impacts, permitting requirements and mitigation needs.
