HEFT Widening/Auxiliary Lanes from NW 74th Street to NW 106th Street

This section of the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT) is a project that required widening by adding the 7th and 8th lanes along a heavily used section of the overall corridor.

This 2-mile section of the HEFT constructed the 7th and 8th lanes of HEFT, which added capacity and helped to alleviate peak hour congestion. Noise barrier walls were added to reduce the noise adjacent to existing residential and commercial properties.

This project included widening from 6-lanes to 8-lanes for 2-miles of the HEFT. The work also included improvements to the ramps at the NW 74th Street Interchange. Noise barrier walls were added along with improved lighting, signing and pavement markings and safety upgrades.
