Wekiva Parkway Section 206 (Contract No. 429-206)

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) sought professional engineering services to add a new section to Wekiva Parkway SR 429 extending to the northwest of Orlando. The new alignment of this limited access roadway is a $49.5 million project. Commuters coming from the northwest side of Orlando have limited accessibility to major highways.

DRMP provided solutions for the design of a new 1.7-mile, 6-lane limited access roadway from east of Round Lake Road to the Lake County/Orange County Line.   The project included the design of the proposed intersection of SR 453 terminus at SR 46 and connection to the SR 46 existing 2-lane roadway just east of Round Lake Road.

The project improved accessibility for commuters traveling from northeast Orlando providing more efficient routes to and from downtown Orlando, popular attractions and more.
