DRMP Expands Florida East Coast Operations with Acquisition
September 1st, 2021
Orlando, Fla. – DRMP, Inc. (DRMP) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Bussen-Mayer Engineering Group, Inc. (BMEG), a 15-person civil engineering consulting firm based in Merritt Island, Fla. With the addition of BMEG, DRMP is expanding its presence on Florida’s East Coast to add an additional office, staff resources and diversify our services in the area.
Founded in 1982, BMEG has built a successful consulting firm serving both public and private sector clients on Florida’s East Coast. They have been involved with many projects on Florida’s East Coast providing civil engineering, environmental consulting, and land surveying services. Their range of projects includes Viera Hospital Site Plan, Brevard County’s Fortenberry Regional Stormwater Management System, City of Melbourne’s Riverview Park Boardwalk and Living Shoreline, City of Melbourne’s new Police Station, numerous residential subdivisions, and Brevard County’s Barnes Boulevard Roadway Widening project.
“This acquisition will help DRMP expand its capabilities and staff expertise along Florida’s East Coast,” said DRMP President/CEO Larry Smith Jr., PE. “BMEG brings an excellent reputation of serving clients in this area and our firms have similar corporate cultures.”
Both companies were founded on providing the best expertise and leadership at their firms to deliver the quality, trust, and respect their clients have come to rely on while working on their projects. This philosophy will continue to be a primary focus as BMEG transitions into DRMP and as they continue to work out of their Merritt Island, Fla. location as a new office.
“The transition into DRMP provides BMEG the ability to continue to achieve success in quality project delivery and gives us expanded resources to afford our staff the opportunity to grow professionally as experts in their fields,” said Joe Mayer, PE, President of BMEG.
BMEG’s President, Joe Mayer, PE will continue to lead the office through the transition. Scott Nickle and J. Barry Cabaniss, PLS will both serve as Vice Presidents of DRMP providing leadership for all the projects managed through the local office.
DRMP and BMEG are committed to achieving the success of this transition through collaboration and teamwork.
