WTS Central Florida Chapter Names DRMP Employer of the Year

October 27th, 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. – The WTS Central Florida Chapter named DRMP Employer of the Year for its continued commitment to recruiting, retaining, and advancing women in the transportation engineering industry.

DRMP Roadway Engineer Nikie Anderson, EI, was also awarded the WTS Graduate Scholarship for her academic achievement and professional development.

These awards were recognized Oct. 23 at WTS’s 28th Annual Scholarship & Awards Banquet at SeaWorld Orlando Ports of Call special event complex.

DRMP Senior Vice President Amanda Woods, PE, nominated the firm for the Employer of the Year award. Woods, who began her career at DRMP in 1997 right out of college, serves as the chapter’s director of advancement and has been active in WTS since 2015.

“This recognition reaffirms that building a workplace where everyone can thrive is good for our firm and for the future of our industry,” Woods said. “Over the years, DRMP has moved beyond simply supporting diversity as a concept. It’s something we live every day through mentorship, leadership development, and equitable opportunities.”

Woods said DRMP’s leadership actively encourages women to share their voices and ideas, creating space for professional growth and collaboration.

“When I started, there were few women in leadership,” she said. “My journey is proof of what’s possible here, and I take great pride in helping the next generation of women engineers and leaders chart their own paths at DRMP.”

Anderson, who joined DRMP as a roadway engineer in 2024, said Woods encouraged her to join WTS and receiving the graduate scholarship has motivated her to continue growing as an engineer and a leader.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive the WTS Graduate Scholarship,” she said. “It’s inspiring to be recognized by an organization that uplifts women in transportation, and this award reinforces my commitment to making a positive impact in the field. The scholarship supports my goal of advancing my education in civil engineering so I can continue growing as a roadway design professional and eventually teach at the college level to help shape the next generation of engineers.”

She added that WTS and DRMP have been instrumental in connecting her with peers and role models across all stages of their careers.

“I’m grateful to both WTS and DRMP for believing in me and supporting my journey,” Anderson said. “DRMP has been very supportive of me and my professional goals by encouraging my involvement in organizations like WTS, providing mentorship opportunities, and helping me grow technically and personally. Their continued support has allowed me to pursue graduate studies while advancing in my career, which has been invaluable to my development.”

Several DRMP employees are active WTS members and committee participants, including Kimberly Sadowski, PE, RSP1, assistant roadway group leader; Colette Moss, PE, executive vice president of transportation; Robyn Hartz, INCE, transportation noise group leader; and Michelle Guard, executive administrative assistant; and Hannah Guglielmello, administrative assistant.

Guglielmello, who joined WTS last year, was recently elected to serve as the chapter’s director of programs for 2026. She brings a background in event planning to the role, including seven years as an event and catering sales manager in the hospitality industry.

“It means so much to be invited to join a board filled with such inspiring, strong, and motivated women,” Guglielmello said. “It’s exciting to return to something I love in an industry I’m equally passionate about.”

Guglielmello credits Woods for her involvement with WTS and encouragement for broadening her professional outlook.

“I believe networking is essential for professional growth, and WTS is by far the most impactful organization I’ve been a part of,” she said. “Through it, I’ve met so many like-minded, inspiring women, and it’s truly opened my eyes to the possibilities within this industry. Seeing how many influential leaders began their careers in administration has been especially motivating and fuels my passion for what I do.”
