DRMP Appoints Four New Vice Presidents for Strategic Growth
April 20th, 2023
ORLANDO, Fla. – In its commitment to its strategic growth initiatives, DRMP has selected its newest vice presidents. Their elevation is a part of the firm’s strategic plan initiated nearly two years ago to provide more opportunities for employee growth and expansion of its services and client base.
Each vice president is a strong leader within their divisions and will bring fresh perspectives to their new leadership roles, said DRMP President Glenn Lusink, PSM.
“In this new group of vice presidents, we have leaders who have been a part of DRMP for several years and have guided its growth to where it is, and some that have made a great impact in their short amount of time with the company,” Lusink said. “These different vantage points are valuable and will help us to continue the success of the firm.”
Congratulations to DRMP’s newest Vice Presidents:
Don Brown, PE, Transportation Drainage Division Leader joined DRMP in 1998 as a Roadway Engineer. He later became a Drainage Engineer in DRMP’s Water Resources Division where he focused on transportation projects. Throughout his 20-plus year career at DRMP, Brown evolved into a department manager, project manager, and client manager overseeing increasingly complex projects.
DRMP Transportation Director Amanda Woods, PE, said Brown’s leadership has made an impact on his team and throughout the company.
“In every role Don has served as a leader and mentor, he has been successful by leading with a commitment to his team and DRMP,” said Woods. “I have no doubt that he will have the same level of dedication as he steps into this new leadership role as a Vice President.”
Matt Elliott, Regional CEI North Carolina Leader joined DRMP in 2014 as a CEI Field Service Leader/Senior Inspector in its Charlotte office. He has 24 years of experience and has been instrumental in helping DRMP expand its geographical reach in North Carolina with the opening of our Troutman office.
DRMP Construction Services Director Erica Jernigan, PE, said Elliott has what it takes to be a Vice President.
“Matt has more than shown his commitment to his team and DRMP, by making strides and overcoming challenges to help build and expand construction services,” said Jernigan. “I’m excited to see him take the next step into leadership and I know he will be just as successful as a Vice President.”
Frank Lopez, PSM, Central Florida Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Manager joined DRMP’s Orlando, Fla. office in 2018 and continues to serve in this role. He has 20 years of experience in surveying and mapping and has supported the growth of the firm’s surveying and mapping client base, team, and the Surveying and Mapping/ Geomatics Division.
DRMP Director of Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Joe Di Benedetto, PSM, said he looks forward to seeing how Lopez will lead as a Vice President.
“Frank is a dedicated, forward-thinking leader who not only serves as a mentor in training younger staff but supports all of our surveying groups companywide,” said Di Benedetto. “I’m proud of how much he’s accomplished in the time he has been with the firm, and I know he will thrive as a Vice President.”
August Thick, II, PLS, North Carolina Surveying and Mapping/Geospatial Regional Manager, started at DRMP in 2000 as an Instrument Man in what was the firm’s newly established Jacksonville, Fla. office. During his time with the firm, he quickly progressed in his career to Party Chief in 2001, Field Crew Supervisor in 2006 and Survey Project Manager in Charlotte, NC in 2017. He was promoted to his current position in 2022.
Thick started his career with DRMP early and gained experience and leadership skills as he has risen through the ranks that have served him well, said DRMP President Glenn Lusink, DRMP, who hired Thick as his first employee in Jacksonville, Fla.
“A great leader is always willing to learn new things and I’ve seen that quality in August as he has built his career here at DRMP,” Lusink said. “I’ve watched him rise through the ranks at DRMP since he joined the firm and I’m proud to see him achieve even more success.”
