DRMP Hires Joce Pritchett, PE, as New PD&E Division Leader
May 11th, 2023
ORLANDO, Fla. – DRMP has hired Joce Pritchett, PE, as its new Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Division Leader as the firm expands its PD&E expertise in the Southeast.
In this role, Pritchett, who will be based in DRMP’s Tampa office, will be primarily responsible for helping to build and grow DRMP’s PD&E practice as part of the firm’s strategic growth plan.
“I’m hoping to tap into the planning and environmental services we already offer and extend that great reputation into PD&E as well,” Pritchett said. “I’d ultimately love to see us have PD&E and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) practices in all the states where we serve clients.”
Pritchett has 32 years of experience designing highway systems, administering NEPA projects, and assisting in the planning of roadway, rail, and transit facilities for transportation agencies. She has also authored and managed numerous PD&E studies throughout Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. Additionally, Pritchett owned her own planning and engineering firm in Jackson, Miss., for nearly a decade.
Though she has a broad range of experience working for large international companies, Pritchett said DRMP had something unique to offer the next chapter in her career.
“I love the size and the culture of DRMP,” she said. “I’ve worked for large international companies where the “people” aspect gets lost. DRMP’s commitment to ‘People First’ – employees as well as clients – seems to set a solid foundation for project delivery excellence. It’s something I wanted to be part of and contribute to.”
Pritchett said she’s excited about the opportunity to build a multi-disciplined practice in several states.
“I’ve worked in many of the states DRMP already practices in, and each state’s approach to NEPA is different,” she said. “State guidelines differ, environmental conditions and requirements vary, and state relationships with lead federal agencies change over time. But many aspects are consistent. I’m eager to dive in, get to know people, see where approaches are consistent, and build a solid practice that others who come after me will be able to continue to grow.”
Amanda Woods, PE, a Senior Vice President and Director of Transportation at DRMP, said Pritchett’s enthusiasm to build a dynamic PD&E group along with her expertise makes her the perfect fit to lead the firm’s growing PD&E group.
“We are excited to have Joce join DRMP and expand our PD&E practice throughout Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia,” Woods said. “She brings a long history of providing PD&E services throughout the Southeast, and we look to build upon that experience to serve our clients in the best way possible while providing growth opportunities for our people.”
