DRMP Engineers Elected to Leadership Roles on ASCE ECB YMF Board
September 10th, 2025
ORLANDO, Fla. – Congratulations to Structures Engineer Aliyah Ramos and Project Engineer Stephen Sarnyai on being elected to serve on the 2025–2026 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) East Central Branch (ECB) Young Member Forum (YMF) Board of Directors.
Ramos has been elected to serve as marketing chair, while Sarnyai will serve as sports co-chair. Both said their involvement in ASCE has helped them establish strong professional relationships and develop as engineers.
Ramos, who joined ASCE ECB YMF shortly after graduating from the University of Central Florida (UCF), has a long history with the organization. During her four years at UCF, she held several leadership positions, including community service chair, concrete canoe proposal captain, concrete cornhole captain, and vice president. She said ASCE has played a significant role in her professional development and growth at DRMP.
“My involvement allows me to strengthen my professional development, network with other industry professionals, and stay engaged with the local engineering community,” Ramos said. “Being part of ASCE also provides opportunities to serve the community, attend technical seminars, and build relationships that can benefit both myself and DRMP.”
As the marketing chair, Ramos will be responsible for managing the ASCE YMF social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, to promote events, share updates, and highlight member achievements.
Sarnyai, a member of ASCE YMF for the past three years, said his involvement has helped him build relationships within the profession. As sports co-chair, he will organize and promote athletic and recreational events that bring young engineers together outside of the workplace.
“It is my way of giving back, having attended many of these events that helped me connect with other engineers,” he said. “I hope to provide fellow engineers activities separate from work to help bring together this community.”
Sarnyai also said the position provides leadership experience.
“This is a great way to gain leadership experience as well as organizing future events, keep up with members, and provide support with connecting others,” he said. “This, I hope, is one small step to greater involvement with ASCE as a whole.”
