ORLANDO, Fla. – DRMP congratulates Transportation Noise Group Leader Robyn Hartz on her appointment to the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Transportation-Related Noise and Vibration.

As a member of the Committee, Hartz will be at the forefront of changes in policy, noise modeling, and research. She also will assist in guiding the direction of future noise-related endeavors.

The Transportation Research Board (TRB), part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, uses its experts to help solve transportation-related challenges, such as advancing resilient infrastructure, exploring new technology, and caring for the public’s health and safety.

While membership as a “friend” on the Committee is open to all, assuming a more active role and providing guidance necessitates an appointment, Hartz said.

“I have been a friend of this committee for more than 10 years, and in the past five years, I’ve been working hard to become more involved and engaged in the Committee,” Hartz said. “This has involved establishing meaningful connections with existing members and actively contributing topics for discussion during our summer meetings."

The Committee is comprised of transportation leaders, consultants, Departments of Transportation personnel, and academics in the industry.
