Brittany Groome, PE, Joins DRMP as Traffic Operations Group Leader
May 22nd, 2024
DRMP welcomes Brittany Groome, PE, as its Traffic Operations Group Leader, marking another significant step in the firm’s ongoing growth and commitment to enhancing its services for clients.
As Traffic Operations Group Leader, Groome will be responsible for pursuing new projects, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients, and ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality work on time and within budget.
Originally from Virginia, Groome spent the first decade of her career working for several firms in the state before relocating to Charleston, S.C., and later to Charlotte, N.C. She has extensive experience in traffic design, including signals, lighting, signing/marking, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), safety, and work zone traffic control. Most of her work has been in the public sector, with projects ranging from single intersections to several miles of I-66 outside the Washington, D.C., beltway.
“I’m excited to blend the private and public sides of our traffic operations group into one cohesive team and grow our presence in the region,” Groome said. “I’m also excited to break into new territories with new clients as well as strengthen the relationships we have with existing clients.”
Groome said she chose DRMP as her next career move because she’s inspired by the team’s energy and vision.
“The office environment here in Charlotte is unmatched,” Groome said. “I also enjoy the business development side of this industry as much as the technical side, and this role allows me to do both.”
Her goal is to propel DRMP into the list of top-ranking firms with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as well as expand the firm’s reach deeper into South Carolina with municipalities, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), and developers.
“I would also like to utilize my existing relationships in Virginia to partner with our sister firm, Rinker Design Associates (RDA),” Groome said.
Groome has a proven track record of client development and brings a wealth of technical knowledge. Her leadership in this role will help continue DRMP’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to the firm's clients.
