DRMP’s Brittany Groome Appointed to ACEC/NC Junior Board of Directors
July 31st, 2025
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – DRMP Traffic Design Group Leader Brittany Groome, PE, PTOE, RSP1, has been named to the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACEC/NC) Junior Board of Directors, a group dedicated to promoting the consulting engineering industry, increasing diversity in programs, events, and memberships, and cultivating future industry leaders.
Groome has been actively involved with ACEC for several years across multiple states in the Mid-Atlantic region. She originally joined the organization to better connect with local industry professionals and stay informed on key issues impacting the profession.
Although new to North Carolina and ACEC/NC, Groome was previously involved with ACEC/SC where she served on the Professional Development Hours (PDH) Subcommittee under the Emerging Leaders Board.
“It was a great opportunity to support professional development efforts, and I’m excited to bring that experience and fresh ideas to the North Carolina chapter as I continue to grow my involvement in the state,” she said.

One of Groome’s goals as a Junior Board of Director is to increase involvement from younger members and promote more opportunities for professional development and mentorship.
“What really motivated me to stay engaged and get more involved was the opportunity to bring other young professionals into the fold earlier in their careers than I was,” Groome said. “It’s a great platform for networking, advocacy, and professional growth, and I’m passionate about helping others tap into that value early on.”
Groome joins 13 other members on the Junior Board. To be considered, candidates submit a nomination form during the annual application period, typically held in May. The current board reviews submissions and selects new members based on qualifications, diversity, and alignment with ACEC/NC’s strategic goals.
“Being on the ACEC/NC Junior Board is a valuable opportunity to grow as a leader, give back to the industry, and connect with other emerging professionals,” Groome said. “I’m excited to bring fresh ideas, support engagement across the state, and help strengthen the pipeline of future leaders.”
She added that her involvement will also benefit DRMP by expanding the firm’s presence within the engineering community and strengthening relationships with industry peers and partners statewide.
“It allows me to stay connected to key initiatives and trends, which I can bring back to our team to inform our work and strategic direction,” she said. “It also creates opportunities to highlight DRMP’s expertise and to support the growth of our emerging professionals through shared insights and connections.”
DRMP Chief Strategy Officer Jim Beck, PE, said Groome’s appointment to the ACEC/NC Junior Board of Directors reflects her growing influence across the engineering community and her commitment to moving it forward.
“Brittany plays a big role in what makes our team effective,” Beck said. “She leads with strength and foresight, brings clarity to complex projects, and consistently supports those around her. We’re excited to see her bring that same drive to the Junior Board and contribute to the future of engineering in North Carolina.”
