About Wekiva 8 Interchange Design-Build Project

The Wekiva Parkway Section 8 project, a $274.5 million design-build in Seminole County, completed Central Florida’s beltway with a 2.63-mile toll road and a new interchange connecting I-4, SR 417, and SR 429. Featuring 20 bridges, ITS, all-electronic tolling, and sustainable design, the project saved $75 million, improved safety, and minimized environmental impacts. DRMP partnered with prime contractor The Lane Construction Corporation and subconsultants Ardaman & Associates, Inc., BCC Engineering, Inc., Bentley Group, Inc., Brindley Pieters & Associates, Inc. (BPA), Ardurra Group, Inc., Florida Bridge & Transportation (FBT), Osiris 9 Consultant, LLC, and Terracon Consultants, Inc.

About I-4 at SR 557 Interchange Design-Build Project

The I-4 at SR 557 project is a $77 million FDOT District 1 design-build effort that realigned 2 miles of I-4 to support future high-speed rail, widened SR 557, converted the interchange to a diamond design with dual teardrop roundabouts, and included Polk County’s first wildlife crossing under I-4 to mitigate environmental impacts. DRMP partnered with prime contractor Skanska USA Civil Southeast, Inc., and subconsultants Element Engineering Group, LLC, Foundation & Geotechnical Engineering, LLC (FGE), Protean Design Group, Inc., and Madrid CPWG to deliver $1 million in cost savings by shifting the alignment east, enabling safer, faster construction with minimal traffic disruption. This innovative project restored critical wildlife connectivity and received approvals from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFMD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

About I-75 at Big Bend Road

The I-75 at Big Bend Road Interchange project in Hillsborough County, Fla., improved traffic flow by reconstructing ramps, widening Big Bend Road to six lanes, and modernizing pedestrian and transit facilities. DRMP served as prime consultant for CEI services, collaborating closely with FDOT District 7, Hillsborough County departments, and stakeholders. The design-build team included Skanska USA Civil Southeast and Dewberry, working together to deliver a complex project with innovative safety measures and around-the-clock operations.
