P-505 Electrical Hardening and Black Start CHP at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort

The Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, South Carolina required support in the design of underground electrical infrastructure.

To support the station’s electrical infrastructure needs, DRMP provided surveying and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) services, including deliverables in accordance with NAVFAC CAD standards. These services included: 28-miles of control leveling; 12-miles of mobile LiDAR data collection on an active, high-security tarmac and runway; setting permanent survey control points; 12-miles of utility designation; and 341,000-LF of underground utility mapping.

DRMP’s accurate and timely surveying services bolstered the underground electrical design efforts that improved efficiency at the Marine Corps Air Station. Surveyors established new Permanent Geodetic Control Points, and over 100 Secondary Survey Control Points.
