SR 30A (US 98) Panama City Beach Parkway from Mandy Lane to East of Nautilus Street

FDOT District Three tasked DRMP with providing a full design and right-of-way survey for this roadway reconstruction project in Bay County, Florida. The challenge of the project was heavy traffic congestion that presented safety concerns for survey personnel.

DRMP performed mobile LiDAR services to create a high-accuracy pavement digital terrain model (DTM) using a REIGL VMX-2HA high speed, dual scanner sensor system to rapidly collect full right-of-way data, alleviating the need for personnel to access the roadway. DRMP set over 62 mobile LiDAR targets with XYZ coordinates, to facilitate the LiDAR topographic acquisition method.

FDOT saved time by using DRMP’s mobile LiDAR services which took 4 to 5 hours to collect data.
