US 41/SR 45/Broad Street from North of Ingraham Street to South of Oaks Mobile Home Park

The Florida Department of Transportation District Seven sought professional engineering services for the resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation of US 41/ SR 45 Broad Street just north of Ingraham Avenue in Brooksville, Fla.

In support of design, DRMP provided mobile LIDAR services to collect and present the existing conditions as a topographic file and digital terrain model (DTM). Due to the number of traffic lanes in the area, Mobile LiDAR was the best choice to collect the most accurate data used and to avoid staff having to survey in heavy traffic conditions.

Mobile LiDAR data also helped provide more accurate pavement information that could check for cross slope safety criteria dictated by Florida law that measures how water flows on the road.
