Charles “Buck” Good Named DRMP Employee of the Quarter for Excellence in Construction Services
January 13th, 2025
TROUTMAN, N.C. – Charles “Buck” Good doesn’t just meet expectations—he sets new ones. Named DRMP’s Employee of the Quarter, Good, a Construction Services technician II, consistently goes the extra mile to support his team and projects.
North Carolina Construction Services Field Service Leader Barbara Leatherman, who nominated Good, said his commitment to excellence has made a difference, particularly during the closeout of the I-40/I-77 Interchange project, and the setup for the NC-150 widening project.
“Buck goes beyond the standard of excellence,” she said. “He is a pivotal asset to the team, and everything he does is an example of what we want to see in an employee, not only for the betterment of the company but the improvement of everyone he interacts with.”
Good played a critical role in resolving project certification issues, collaborating with contractors and suppliers to secure the necessary documentation. Recognizing gaps in training, he took the initiative to create modules that not only streamlined the onboarding process for new inspectors but also improved the consistency of reports from staff.
He also developed a more efficient method for handling project certification documents and created a standard operating procedure to ensure smooth integration into the NC-150 project. Good’s knowledge of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Connect site has been a huge asset, and he is always willing to assist with maintaining field office equipment and supporting fellow inspectors.
“Buck’s dedication to improving our firm’s processes and team dynamics makes him a deserving recipient of DRMP’s Employee of the Quarter,” Leatherman said.
“His desire to learn and openness to alternative methodologies of work have made him an indispensable member of our team,” she continued. “There is not enough recognition I could give in this nomination for Buck to fully capture the level of positive impact he has created here. His contributions have elevated his colleagues, strengthened our team, and exemplified what it means to pursue excellence in everything he does.”
