Inside DRMP's Survey and SUE Effort Powering North Carolina's I-77 South Charlotte Express Lanes

When the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) selected DRMP to provide survey and SUE services for the I-77 South Express Lanes project, the firm was stepping into the largest undertaking its North Carolina survey and SUE teams had ever taken on. The project will add two new express toll lanes in each direction, reconstruct key interchanges and bridges, and introduce direct connectors to improve access and traffic flow along an 11-mile corridor.

The City of Orlando selected DRMP as the prime consultant for the Bumby Avenue Pedestrian Safety Improvements project to address residents’ concerns of speeding, cut-through traffic, and safety issues. DRMP's goal was to turn these concerns into a safer, more predictable corridor that supports the City’s Vision Zero goals. Vision Zero is a road safety initiative that seeks to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries by prioritizing safer street design, enforcing traffic laws, and promoting a culture of shared responsibility.
