CR 580/Sam Allen Road

A 2-mile segment of rural highway in Hillsborough County, Fla., was widened and reconstructed into a four-lane divided urban roadway. The biggest challenge was the installation of the CSX railroad crossing and intersection reconstruction of the SR 39A and CR 580 intersection.

DRMP provided materials sampling and testing, construction administration services, and construction engineering inspection to assist in the updating of the roadway. The SR 39A and CR 580 intersection was also reconstructed as part of this project. Constant coordination between the Contractor, DRMP, FDOT, and CSX was required for the successful completion of this phase of work within the eight-week timeframe.

DRMP’s CEI experts worked seamlessly with the contractor and other involved agencies to help the client meet its goal of updating the roadway from rural to urban.
