Maitland Boulevard Extension

Maitland Boulevard Extension, also known as the John Land Apopka Expressway, was a $141 million new limited access toll roadway and bridge project. The Central Florida Expressway needed Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services to inspect contractor work for approximately 3.9-miles of new limited access roadway (SR 414) from west of CR 435 in Orlando to east of SR 429 in Apopka.

DRMP was selected to provide full service construction administration and inspection on this project which consisted of providing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to construct the project. The work also included minor reconstruction of local roadways, construction of 11 new bridges, drainage, roadway lighting, fiber optic network and signing and pavement markings in Orange County, Florida.

The CEI services assured the Central Florida Expressway that the project was completed in accordance to created plans and specifications. The Maitland Boulevard Extension benefits the community by improving access between SR 429 and Interstate-4. The limited access toll facility also relieves congestion along US 441 and other local roads in Apopka and Northwest Orlando. This major facility was completed on time and under budget.
