I-3306A on I-40

I-40 was being widened from two to three lanes in each direction. Additionally, the I-40/NC 86 Interchange needed to be modified and the existing left lane drop near US 15-501 in Durham County needed to be removed. NCDOT sought an experienced CEI team to support these project goals.

DRMP provided CEI services to support the widening of 11.4-miles of I-40 from two to three lanes in each direction, as well as the I-40/NC 86 Interchange modifications, and the removal of the existing left lane drop near US 15-501. DRMP provided the following services: erosion control inspection, materials sampling and testing, surveying grade verification, and construction administration.

These roadway updates will improve traffic flow along the corridor and help relieve heavy congestion during high-volume times. DRMP’s construction services expertise allowed the project to be accurately and safely completed.
