Executive Brief - Investing in People: The True Measure of Success at DRMP
September 10th, 2025
What defines a successful firm in the A/E/C industry today isn’t just winning projects but creating a place where talented people want to grow and remain. Projects are out there, funding is available, and our clients and communities are counting on us to deliver. The real challenge isn’t opportunity; it’s hiring the right people and keeping them.
The numbers tell the story. In the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Q1 2025 Engineering Business Sentiment Survey, most firms reported plans to expand their hiring this year, with mid-career professionals identified as the most difficult group to attract and retain. The ACEC projects workforce growth through 2030 will fall well short of the demand created by ongoing infrastructure investment.
This is the competitive landscape DRMP operates in. It’s why we have to keep these questions – Why DRMP? Why should someone choose to build their career here when so many opportunities exist across the industry? – front and center.
The answer lies in what we’ve built together. At DRMP, mentorship, professional development, and culture are intentional and strategic investments.
For younger professionals, that means purpose and a clear path to advance. For mid-career leaders, it means stability, recognition, and opportunities to broaden their impact. For everyone, it means being part of a team that values both the work we do and the people who make it possible.
While winning work on impactful projects is what keeps DRMP successful, we know our people stay with DRMP for more than that. They find colleagues who care, leaders who invest in them, and a culture that makes their work and all the complex challenges it can bring worth it. They find a place to sharpen their expertise, build meaningful careers, and enjoy the work along the way.
So, why DRMP? Because our strength comes from investing in people. It’s how we retain top talent, deliver value to our clients, and ensure the resilience of both our projects and our firm.
