Honoring the Life and Legacy of Tom Neyer, PE

October 15th, 2025

DRMP is deeply saddened to share the passing of Tom Neyer, PE, Alternative Delivery Senior Project Manager in our Orlando office.

Tom joined DRMP in 2022, contributing to several major design-build projects, including the I-275 at I-4 Downtown Interchange, I-4 at Sand Lake Road Interchange, and SR 417 Widening. His time with us represents only a small part of a distinguished 40-year career that influenced the transportation industry.

Throughout his career, Tom was a natural leader and mentor who guided multidisciplinary teams across Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Utah, and West Virginia. He was known for his technical excellence, expertise in complex transportation projects, and genuine care for the people he worked with. Many of today's leaders in transportation were mentored or influenced by Tom, creating a legacy that extends far beyond the projects he delivered.

A University of Kentucky graduate, Tom earned his Professional Engineer licenses in Florida, Kentucky, and numerous other states throughout the Southeast. Prior to joining DRMP, he served as the GEC Design Program Manager for Florida's Turnpike Enterprise.

Outside of work, Tom was a devoted husband to his wife Denise, father to Erica, Evan, and Jonathan, and a proud grandfather. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats fan and enjoyed fishing.

Tom's passing is a significant loss to DRMP and the broader transportation engineering community. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many colleagues whose lives and careers he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17 at 2pm at First United Methodist Church, 439 E. 5th Ave., Mt. Dora, FL 32757. The family invites guests to wear University of Kentucky Wildcat blue or your favorite fishing shirt in Tom’s honor. A reception will be held in the church’s Friendship Hall immediately following the service.
